There are different types of fibres used to produce clothes, such as synthetics, which are chemically produced (polyester, nylon), or natural fibres (cotton, linen). However, production of natural fibres still uses pesticides, huge amounts of water and chemical products.

In the mid 1990s, the well-known Swiss Brand Freitag started to make bags reusing truck tarps and car seatbelts. Now they have started to also produce clothes using fibres such as Hemp, Linen and Modal, being 100% biodegradable.
